Spanning from the wine country to Silicon Valley, the Bay Area has a population of over 6.7 million people in nine counties and 101 cities. Nowhere is there a place with such landscape diversity, vibrant urban life, and outdoor opportunities. The Bay Area has an embarrassment of riches.
People who live here do so because they value the incredible array of the activities and the depth of the possibilities. The primary attraction of living here is taking advantage of these very opportunities. Yet, when free time presents itself, we can’t recall, more often than not, that elusive great idea. If only there was a written collection of these ideas ... and now there is!

About Kara
As a self-prescribed collector, I accumulate and stow ideas as I experience them first-hand and as others pass on their "secret" spots and Bay Area gems. Beyond that, I am an avid outdoor and food enthusiast with a fanatical desire to live every day of my life.
Although new to the Bay Area in 2002 (born and raised in Phoenix, educated in North Carolina, worked in New York, London, and then Los Angeles), I am enthusiastically pursuing seeing and experiencing everything the area offers. Perhaps, having lived many other places, I am truly able to appreciate how exceptional this area is. But, don't take my word for it. Get out there ...

About Andrew
After growing up in Mexico City and Texas, I was lucky enough to come to the Bay Area in 1994 for college, but it wasn't until I got my head out of the books (okay, admittedly, it was never really in the books) that I really started taking advantage of how great this area is, and since graduation I've signed on for a full-time contract.
I'm a particular fan of cheap restaurants in the tenderloin, hikes with ocean views, and biking routes that go mostly uphill. During the week you can find me designing sites like this one and other web-based tools.
